And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. (2Chronicles 7:13-15)
Our understanding of why God allowed the current COVID-19 pandemic is limited. However, if we God’s people humble ourselves and pray and seek him and repent of our sins sincerely, then he will hear us and forgive our sins and heal our land. God’s eyes will be open and his ears attentive to our prayers. So, come, let us pray in sincere repentance and seek his face! Let us also intercede for our community and our land faithfully as God’s chosen people.
We pray that the current pandemic crisis may turn to an opportunity:
To have a deeper and personal relationship with our Lord Jesus and grow as independent servants of God.
To have an intimate fellowship with our family and worship God together.
To actively connect to friends and coworkers online and offline while keeping social distancing (One beautiful thing God is doing among us nowadays is that He is uniting us as a loving, caring and prayerful community through the current crisis. Praise God!).
To help the needy and lead the lost souls to come to God online and offline.

The building has been used as a church over the years but has many serious issues and needs to be repaired/remodeled before we can move in. Please pray that the repairs and renovations can be done in the right way step by step. May God use this church as a place of worship, prayer, fellowship, and service for Philadelphia young students and beyond.”
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. (James 5:15-18)
[Urgent] M. Noah Yoo (Freiberg, Germany): The tests showed the size of one cancer is 3 cm, the other two are smaller than that, and they are widely separated. So, it is necessary to remove 60% of the liver and pancreas after 2-4 weeks. The remaining 40% would recover the liver function fully. (Usually, 20% can recover the whole) He will be hospitalized for another 10-14 days after surgery. Three best-known, skillful doctors will conduct the surgery using side-effect-minimizing methods by operating through a small hole instead of an abdominal incision. Please pray for the operation and recovery process. May God restore M. Noah’s health so that he may continue to serve the Lord with all his might.
[Urgent] M. EstherChung (Chicago, by P. Ron Ward): On 7/15, she was found that the lymphoma which began in her nasal area has spread through other parts of her body and is now in stage 3-4. Today (7/16) an MRI showed that her brain is clear of cancer. Thank God! She underwent a spinal tap, cardiac test, liver test, kidney test, and more. She will spend the night in the cardiac unit of the hospital. The doctors want her to begin chemo treatments as soon as possible. Please pray for her to have sufficient strength to endure. Dr. Joseph Chung shared 1 Peter 4:13, John 11:4, Mark 11:24. He prays for God's mighty power to bring about complete healing and recovery for M. Esther for the glory of God. Everything is possible with God! Let's join him in prayer.
M. J*oyPalaka (India): The result of PET CT Scan after the 4th Chemo showed a miracle. Three other places in the body where cancerous cells had spread have now disappeared. Even the lump in the breast is reduced so much. The doctor was surprised but we knew it was the result of the prayer from coworkers around the world praying for Joy. The doctor suggested that after one more chemo, they would do surgery and remove the remnant cancer cells from the breast. Thank God for the result and please keep praying for her.
S. J*ulieAngam (India): She took her third cycle chemo just yesterday. Her previous chemo medicine was too strong and difficult to bear. So, her doctor changed her medicine this time. As a result, her pain and side effect were much reduced. She still has swelling of her body and Dr advised her to be careful so that it may not affect her kidneys. Please continue to pray for her full recovery. Our hearts are full of thankfulness to God for all the co-workers who are supporting us materially and spiritually. We are thankful to God that this sickness draws our children closer to God.
Dr. J*amesHong (NU, Chicago): "I praise and thank God for healing me from cancer through a successful surgery. I accept God gives this blessing as a second chance to my life. God gave me a new life to glorify his name. God showed his endless and unconditional love to me. I pray that I remember his love and great work and testify it. By the grace of God, I am getting better in health from the surgery. Last week, I met doctors for the future treatment plan. Although the surgery removed cancer cells, they found that 24 out of 28 lymph nodes that were removed are cancer positive. They diagnosed that it is a very high possibility to recur cancer at the remaining lymph nodes near the center of the chest. Thus, I went to the chemotherapy immediately. I will have another chemotherapy in early August and then will have radiotherapy for the following 5 weeks. It is expected that I can return to Chicago in October, but I have to receive continuing therapy there. It will be long fighting. However, I believe that God is with me. In all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. I pray that I can be thankful in any circumstances by fully trusting God. I thank you for your love and prayers."

Thank God and thank you for your prayer in advance.”
M. Eunice and AlexXafos (New York) will be sent to Belize as silver missionaries. They have served New York ministry for decades as good coworkers. S. Eunice had to go through serious heart surgery recently. However, Eunice and Alex have decided to go to Belize in August. They will support M. Moses (who is sick with Lyme disease) and Sarah Chang. They came to Chicago HQ to be ordained and sent out to Belize in August. May God bless their decision of faith and bless Belize's mission.
M. M*aryBahn (By Dr. Gideon Bahn): “She finished her chemotherapy successfully and started radiation therapy. Please pray that she may have no side effect from radiation therapy and recover to be cancer-free.”
Dr. E*lizabethKim (Wiesbaden, Germany): “I received the results of surgery and biopsy at the hospital, and all cancer cells were removed from the body. I still need to receive radiation therapy for the next 6 weeks and take hormone medication for 5 to 10 years. Thank you for all the prayer coworkers' earnest prayers. Praise God!”
M. A*brahamLee (Milwaukee UBF): “I'd like our coworkers to pray for me. I have been suffering from depression for the past several months. The symptom includes headache, dizziness and fatigue. May God heal me from depression completely. Prayer topics are 1. to have faith in God, not to worry about anything. 2. to eat well, sleep well and exercise. 3. to be able to take medication without side effects. Thank you.”
Dr. O*yorMoses (Egypt) and his family (Germany) 1) Needs God's mercy in the 2nd hearing for the Asylum process. They are waiting for an invitation for the 2nd hearing. The process takes several months, 2) Weekly Bible Study with the Nett family and participation in the online Köln Worship Service, 3) They are learning the German Language diligently online with DanielPark, 4) Health: The youngest, 'Yeyo' was hospitalized due to shortness of breath and pain in her legs then was released. M. M*arkKim (South Africa): Riot and looting in Johannesburg and Derban: The distressed people by the pandemic already burnt out one LG factory where I work and took all the electronic goods. They said the other two LG factories were planned to be burnt too. The looters try to attack homes too. Please pray for South Africa and our missionaries to be protected. Pray for us not to hate the poor people but to forgive and love them.
Drs. Jeremiah and Yaejin Park's moving to San Diego: “We had co-worked with Dr. Samuel A Lee in UIUC for over 15 years. Now by God's guidance, we move to San Diego on 7/16 as a Senior Engineer in the HQ of a company, the leader of DNA sequencing instruments, in San Diego, CA. Here are our prayer topics: 1) Settling down in San Diego & in the company well, 2) Yaejin's new job in San Diego, 3) Raising two children (Ellie & Lina) well, 4) May God guides our journey of faith in San Diego, to join UBF San Diego or a new campus pioneering.
UBF Riverside, CA joined WLA UBF (By R*obertoSolano): We recently moved from Riverside to UBF West LA to co-work with M. Paul Chin and M. Faith Chin. We thank God for being with us the last 14 years in Riverside from Mexico to serve the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Along the way, we faced some hardships such as sickness, accidents, lack of work permits, and our own sin. However, the Lord was taking care of us in many ways by the pillar of cloud and of fire (Exodus 13:21). We are thankful to M. Paul and West LA UBF coworkers and young leaders who welcomed our family (Jacqueline, Ana- Maria, David, Victor, and me) to the ministry. We pray that the Lord may use our training years in Riverside as a seed for UCR to be pioneered in his time. Our current prayer topics are: 1. To seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness trusting that everything else will be added by God. 2. To have a humble and ready heart to learn West LA ministry and to co-work well with the servants of God and the young leaders. 3. To master English Language and develop other skills to better serve CSUN students. Thank you so much for your prayer support, your care, and love in Christ that has been extended to us along the past years.

Juan and Alandra (Belize) established a house church on 6/26 (by Sarah Chang). “M. Moses and I were out of Belize. Our leaders worked hard to make the environment for this wedding. Genesis 12:2 was chosen for their wedding; May God bless them and make them a blessing so that many young people (especially those cohabiting without marriage) have hope for marriage in God.”
Carlos and Lizette (COD, Chicago) established a house church on 7/10. Ephesians 5:33 was the marriage KV. They may love each other through 'washing each other's feet' with the love of Christ. M. Grace Kim (by Dr. Joshua Kim, Karawaci, Indonesia.): Thank you for your constant prayer support for M. Grace. Even if she is still taking some antipsychotic drugs, her mentality has been thankfully well stabilized. She took the MRI scan in the Neurosurgery last week. I pray the size of the tumor may be reduced in her brain. At the rehabilitation hospital, she had practiced standing up using a stand assist lift. But since last week, she started to practice moving one step ahead with the nurse’s help and with an instrument. Because her left leg is not moving, she can’t walk yet. I pray she may be able to walk on her feet by God’s one-sided grace and mercy upon her.
